Less is More

We feel the need to pile on the accessories. Why? More is more. More what? Stares? Attention?

Darling please, less is more! Yes, adding a few more bracelets is going to capture more attention. What will that attention be directed at? You? No. Your bracelets? Yes!

You cannot let your outfit wear you! You are the one wearing the outfit! You are the one who must rock that outfit! What do you want people to see first? Your outfit or you? Think about that as you look in the mirror after getting dressed.

“Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance.”

“Once you’ve dressed, and before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take at least one thing off.”

My dear readers please keep this in mind. This quote is not only talking about fashion although when dressing yourself I strongly encourage you to look in the mirror and question your outfit. When looking in that mirror ask yourself if this is what you want to be revealing to the world. Also this quote is talking about the way you carry yourself. I honestly hope that you will be modest in everything that you do!

As of right now it is considered “cool” to show a lot of skin. I know that a lot of people are just not comfortable with that! Your clothes your decision! If you are not comfortable wearing short shorts or crop tops THEN DONT WEAR THEM!

I am sorry to say that we live in a world where people are judged for everything that they do. The most powerful thing a person can do is accept themselves. Realize that you do not have to fit in some ” flawless” mold that society has conjured up for you. Be yourself! Explore your interests! Find your passion! Of course this brings me back to the topic of personal style!

If you have not guessed it yet, I have a really girly style! I guess you could say that me being dressed up is normal. Yes, I get lots of comments. “Why are you dressed up?”,

” It must take you a long time to get ready!”,

” Why do you dress like that everyday? It must be exhausting!”

I have heard it all! I dress the way I do because I want to. It is that simple. Dressing up makes me happy! It is something that I enjoy! I have friends who hate dressing up and they also get comments about how they should try harder. It is really distressing that this is the world we live in. If you already have not realize that you do not need anyone’s approval! Go out and rock the clothes you love!

Society may approve of your clothing choices but you may not. Mabey it is the other way around. You do not have to follow every trend! You rock your style choices like nobody else can! Stay fabulous.

Winter Basics part 1.

The canvas. One of my wardrobe building tricks is to buy a lot of plain basic clothing items and then pile on vibrant accessories! When I say canvas I’m referring to those very plain clothing items we all have.

When shopping for these plain items pick thing that will go with literally anything. The list below is what basic items you should own in winter.

1. Solid color long sleeve shirts

2. Jeans (whatever fit you prefere but this is the time to rock those boots so I recommend skinny jeans!)

3. A plain cardigan or sweater

4. A solid color skirt and/or dress

5. Boots

6. Solid color dressy pants
